We have been entrusting our holiday greetings to art schools since 2013. This year we are collaborating again with the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. A first commissioned work for young students, as part of the Law is Art! project supporting contemporary art.
This year we decided to award the proposals of Chiara Maria Orsenigo Marzorati, 22 years old, and Silvia Vesco, 24 years old, both students in the Painting course.

«Although fear will have more arguments, you nevertheless choose hope» (Seneca)
To «choose hope» is an invitation to cultivate and let grow within us sprouts of light and novelty. Just as flora develops with tenacity and reconquers its ground in the surrounding space, so too the dimension of hope should not lose its vitality but return to grow powerfully in our hearts, giving life to the unprecedented. Untamed plants and flowers reclaim their land, hope dominates fear and renews the world.

The work is made in acrylic and oil pastel on canvas, with subsequent digital processing. I envisioned Christmas as a series of evolving traditions and small rituals that define this time of year. Each layer of the spread color is kept visible on the surface, and the oil pastel allowed me to build a texture, a rhythm, metaphors of time and the slow change of things.
