Italian agritech startup detects mycotoxins through UV imaging, artificial intelligence and geolocated data
LCA Studio Legale advised Foodtech Accelerator and Eatable Adventures (together with Accelera Ventures), acting as lead investors, in the seed investment round of Aflabox, an Italian agritech startup that develops a portable platform based on UV imaging, artificial intelligence and geolocated data to detect mycotoxins, assess the commercial quality of grains and map risks along agricultural supply chains.
The investment was carried out as part of FoodSeed, the acceleration program of the National Accelerators Network of CDP Venture Capital, managed by Eatable Adventures and Accelera Ventures, and saw the participation of Farming Future, the National Technology Transfer Hub for Agrifood Tech promoted by CDP Venture Capital SGR in collaboration with ToSeed & Partners.
The funds raised will allow the startup to complete the validation and certification of the device, strengthen its commercial presence in Kenya, Nigeria and Italy, and begin building a micro-factory dedicated to Aflabox production.
For LCA Studio Legale, the deal was handled by partner Andrea Messuti, who coordinated the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital team, together with mid-level associate Maria Flora Cafiero and associate Anna Paola Pasin.
Also involved in the transaction were the law firm of Matteo Nuzzo, which advised investor Farming Future with Matteo Nuzzo and Monica Taddei, and Foundasy, a strategic-legal advisory network, which, through founder Stefano Pardini, advised the company and its founders. Notarial matters were handled by notary Anna Riberti of Studio Notarile Gamlex.
