A Full Professor of Tax Law at Sapienza University of Rome, a lawyer qualified to practice before the Court of Cassation, and a chartered auditor, Franco Paparella combines his academic career with over thirty years of solid professional experience in litigation and advisory work in tax matters, assisting companies, corporate groups, public entities and state-owned companies on tax issues, extraordinary transactions, and corporate reorganizations and restructurings. He has also gained significant experience in corporate crisis management, having held prominent roles such as Deputy Extraordinary Commissioner of the Alitalia group, Extraordinary Commissioner of Farmacap, and Judicial Commissioner of the San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Rome. He is also the author of numerous scientific publications and actively takes part in academic and professional debate on the leading issues in tax law.
With his arrival, LCA further expands its Tax department, led by Equity Partner Roberto Pellizzari. His experience will help strengthen the practice, in particular consolidating the firm’s presence in Rome.
Professor Paparella’s arrival will also make it possible to develop further synergies with the Corporate, Restructuring & Insolvency, and Litigation practices, offering clients increasingly integrated assistance in transactions and disputes with a strong tax component. “In restructuring transactions, tax aspects are no longer a secondary issue, but have a direct impact on the structure and sustainability of the solutions identified. Being able to rely on Professor Paparella’s experience therefore represents an important added value for the Firm and for our clients,” said Salvatore Sanzo, Equity Partner and Head of the Restructuring & Insolvency department, as well as Honorary President of LCA.
“We are delighted to welcome Professor Franco Paparella to LCA,” commented Roberto Pellizzari. “Franco combines recognized academic authority with long-standing, highly qualified professional experience — qualities that represent an important added value for our clients and for the Firm’s development. His arrival will help strengthen dialogue between the different practices, particularly in corporate transactions and litigation, where tax expertise plays an increasingly strategic role.”
Professor Paparella’s arrival marks a further step in LCA’s development path, aimed at combining deep specialist expertise with a fully integrated approach across the Firm’s various practices.
