For the third year, within the initiatives of the project LAW IS ART!, LCA Law Firm is proud to support MIART 2018’s LCA for Emergent Prize, having the scope of rewarding the best emerging gallery in the contemporary art scene.
LCA’s project LAW IS ART! was born from the passion of some of its professionals for contemporary art, from the deep knowledge of the art system and the recognized legal and tax expertise in the art field. It was also born from a strong commitment to sustain innovation in the art field, endorse human creativity and promote art outside traditional circuits.
Among the initiatives planned, LCA has promoted some important exhibitions (Tatiana Trouvé in occasion of the assignment of the ACACIA 2014 Prize, Brigitte March Niedermair hosted at Borromeo Palace in Milan) and has converted one of its meeting rooms into a real artist’s Project Room to host the outcomes of the research of some primary artists active on the Milanese, national and international scene (Letizia Cariello, Chiara Camoni, Botto&Bruno, Franco Guerzoni, Silvia Camporesi). The Firm has also organized some seminars on the multiple aspects of the art world in cooperation with important institutional and company partners.
The personal interest and direct engagement of some professionals, on the one hand, and the long-standing legal and fiscal consultancy to artists, collectors, museums, galleries, foundations, auction houses or simple art enthusiasts, on the other hand, have contributed to the development of a specific art law practice within the Law Firm.
Indeed, thanks to a deep knowledge of the dynamics and features that characterize the art system and market, LCA is now able to assist the clients in all art-related activities, matters and issues, including the acquisition, sale and loan of art works, the drafting and negotiation of agreements for the transfer of property rights, the management of gifts and bequests, the exploitation of related eco-nomical rights, the formal preparation of art exhibitions and performances, the setting up of art foundations and trusts.
