Nicola represents Italian and foreign companies, as well as public and private agencies, involved in the agri-food supply chain with regards to food law, competition law, intellectual property law and customer protection. His professional activity focuses on the different aspects of the food law from the definition of agreements between companies to the compliance required from food firms along the chain, as well as from quality, certification and control processes to international commerce regulation and international standards, in addition to customs and compliance issues, labeling and advertising. In recent years, he has particularly focused his professional activities on important M&A transactions in the agri-food sector.

Nicola joined LCA in 2017.
From 2004 to 2006, he had been the assistant and legal advisor of the European Commission, DG AGRI, where he was in charge of the dossier on quality regulations, geographical indications and alternative energy sources. Following this, he worked for primary Italian law firms with an international presence, mainly focusing on international contracts, M&A, EU law, Industrial and Competition Law. In particular, he was able to develop his skills by assisting primary food companies and firms involved in the agri-food sector.
With regards to his academic experience, he has been a Professor in Food Law and EU Agricultural Law at the University of Florence since 2011 and the coordinator of the Master’s in Wine Law. He has been actively working with the University of LUISS Guido Carli in Rome where he was a Lecturer in Food Law and is currently a member of the Board of Coordinators for the second Master’s Degree in Food Law.
