The LCA Studio Legale Prize for Emergent, established in 2015 through the collaboration between miart and LCA Studio Legale and awarded to the gallery with the best presentation within the Emergent section, was awarded to Lovay Fine Arts (Geneva) «for a precise presentation that combines formal assurance with a sharp sense of humour».
The international jury, composed of Helena Kritis, Chief Curator, WIELS Centre for Contemporary Art, Brussels (Belgium); Edward Gillman, Director, Chisenhale Gallery, London (United Kingdom); and Michal Grzegorzek, Curator and Head of Programme, Kem Collective, Warsaw (Poland), was particularly impressed by the work of Sem Lala, «which conveys a discursive and geopolitical urgency which is especially timely in the current moment».
LCA’s partnership as a sponsor of miart has continued since 2015 and forms part of the activities of the Law is Art! project, through which the firm supports art and artistic experimentation.
