LCA advised the selling shareholders of Planta on the sale of a controlling stake in the company to SIS – Società Italiana Sementi. The team consisted of Vittorio Turinetti di Priero, Matteo Montironi and Carolina Cominardi.
Planta is an Italian company specializing in the research and development of new varieties of agricultural, herbaceous and tree species. Its main crops are maize, soybean, barley, wheat and open-field vegetables.
SIS is the seed division of BF, an Italian agro-industrial group listed on the stock exchange. It operates along the entire agri-food supply chain, from research and production to the sale of seeds. With this transaction, SIS strengthens its presence in varietal research and development. The acquisition is part of the group’s growth and consolidation in the Italian seed sector and, in particular, strengthens its maize genetics platform.
