Giulio is an expert in civil law, with particular focus on tort law and personal injury. For over forty years, he has been involved in litigation across multiple areas, including tort and contractual liability, assessment of pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages, medical and environmental liability, contracts and insurance, product liability in the automotive and food sectors, and non-profit organizations (foundations and third-sector entities). He regularly assists companies, professionals, and non-profit organizations in complex disputes, often involving issues of uncertain causation and defective products.
He joined LCA in October 2025 as Of Counsel in the Litigation, Arbitration and ADR Department, after having been one of the founding partners of BonelliErede, where he served as Partner from the firm’s establishment until 2018 and as Of Counsel until 2025.
Throughout his career, Giulio has taken part in research groups and committees dedicated to developing new legislation on personal injury, establishing himself as a leading figure in the Italian legal community.

Giulio served as Full Professor of Institutions of Private Law at the Faculty of Law of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan (2007–2025). Previously, he taught at Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (1982–1985), Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa (1986–1990), University of Pisa (1990–1994), and University of Brescia (1994–2007).
He is the author of an extensive body of scholarly work, with nearly 400 publications on tort law, personal injury, comparative law, insurance, and the third sector.
Giulio is Editor-in-Chief of “Danno e Responsabilità”, a member of the Editorial Board of “La Nuova Giurisprudenza Civile Commentata”, and part of the Scientific Committee of “Contratto e Impresa”.
He is a regular speaker at academic conferences and workshops and collaborates on research projects concerning the reform of tort law and the sustainability of the compensation system.
