LCA’s Food Department participated pro bono – as the only Italian law firm – to the three-week virtual hackathon organized by Global Legal Hackathon in collaboration with the Financial Times, first submitting a challenge on the topic of Food Loss / Food Waste and then actively engaging in its resolution.
Francesco Cazzini and Martina Terenzi, with the coordination of our Innovation Officer Marco Imperiale and led internally by Nicola Lucifero, have been part of a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, designers, engineers and product managers, attracting several professionals from 6 different European countries working for important companies and consultancy firms.
With strong team building, clear internal rules and division of tasks, and after tests, surveys and feedbacks they came to their final output: Food WAYste, the first worldwide legal directory in the field of food waste! The platform aims at making sector rules and regulations more accessible to food business operators, also by comparing the laws of 14 countries around the world.
A precious opportunity to apply Design Thinking and Legal Design methodologies to a topic particularly fostered by the Green Committee of LCA and by the entire Firm.
