Società Agricola Halaesa, active in avocado production, has completed a transaction combining the acquisition of agricultural land with a €20 million mortgage financing granted by a pool of four banks. The transaction enables the company to reach its target of 300 hectares under cultivation and to support its industrial plan.
The financing was provided by a pool composed of UniCredit, Crédit Agricole Italia, Mediocredito Centrale and BdM Banca. UniCredit acted as agent bank and arranger, with the transaction originated by the bank’s Team Agribusiness Sicilia. The financing was structured without recourse to public guarantees or subsidised instruments.
Alongside the financing, Halaesa completed the acquisition of 210 hectares of agricultural land from multiple sellers, as part of the growth path of the Sicilian benefit corporation.
The funds obtained will be used to implement Halaesa’s development plan, which envisages the expansion of cultivated land to approximately 300 hectares, the stabilisation of the financial structure and the consolidation of the company’s positioning in the production and management of tropical fruit. In recent years, Halaesa has supported its growth through private capital, strengthening its governance and building an organisational model geared towards the large-scale management of agricultural activity, based on regenerative practices.
Halaesa was assisted on legal matters by LCA Studio Legale with two separate teams: the team led by partner Nicola Lucifero, composed of Angelica Bonino, handled the agricultural land acquisitions, while the team led by partner Davide Valli, with Caterina Gatto and Francesca Rucco, handled the matters related to the bank financing.
The banking pool was assisted by Advant Nctm, with a team led by partner Roberto de Nardis di Prata and composed of senior associate Davide Brollo.
