LCA is proud to support the exhibition “Elegantia” by two belgian artists, Jos Gruyter & Harald Thys, first solo show of their work hosted by an italian institution, the Triennale of Milan. The exhibition, under the curation of Francesco Garutti and the artistic direction of Edoardo Bonaspetti, will open on January 27.
From January 28 until March 19 the Triennale will thus become the perfect host for “Elegantia”, a sophisticated experiment on the idea of display, in which the setting up has been envisioned as a mise-en-scene of the idea itself of “exhibition”. New sculptures, artworks specifically created for the Triennale of Milan, in addition to drawings, watercolour paintings and recent sculptures exhibited at the MoMA PS1, CCA Wattis and Raven Row, will be inserted in the show architecture – a spatial and optical device shaping the ambiguous relation between subject and object – that becomes setting and show itself.
The support provided by LCA to the show is part of the wider project Law is Art!, through which LCA promotes innovation and the artistic research and the role of art in the contemporary culture.
