Agostino focuses primarily on regulatory matters in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, as well as on the related experimental clinical research. Drawing on extensive and proven experience working on behalf of manufacturers, as well as serving as a consultant or member of institutions (Ethics Committees, research centers, public and private foundations), he has actively participated in all phases of new product development, from conception to refinement and the conduct of clinical trials for regulatory approval, from marketing authorization to securing pricing and reimbursement, from participation in public tenders for supplies to the National Health Service to distribution and scientific promotion\/information, through to continuing medical education (CME), pharmacovigilance, and the conduct of additional clinical trials for expanded or observational indications (both for-profit and non-profit).<\/p>\n
He has also handled all aspects of compliance within the sector (such as privacy, anti-corruption, and oversight), as well as collaborative special transactions and joint ventures, and the related civil, criminal, and administrative litigation. In addition to his specialized practice, Agostino has consistently provided legal assistance and counsel across various areas of civil, commercial, corporate, administrative, and EU law, particularly in the environmental, public and private procurement, agri-food, and biotechnology sectors, and generally in matters governed by special legislation.<\/p>\n
In 2011, he was recognized as Top Legal\u2019s Professional of the Year for the Life Sciences sector and has for years been ranked among the leading lawyers in the sector by international directories such as Chambers, The Legal 500, and Who\u2019s Who Legal.<\/p>\n
From 1975 to 2020, he was a member of Studio Pavia e Ansaldo, serving as a partner from 1986 to 2016 and as of counsel from 2017 to 2020. His joining LCA in 2021, alongside young and experienced professionals, as of counsel in the Life Sciences Department, strengthens the firm\u2019s already substantial experience and track record in this important sector and enables us to offer clients an increasingly specialized and broad-ranging service across the various facets of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.<\/p>\n
