extends the temporary protection for Ukrainians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the EU extended the actionability of the <strong>EU Directive 2001\/55<\/strong> on <strong>Temporary Protection<\/strong>, for the consistent Ukrainian community escaped in Italy the only question remaining was related to their residence permit: the validity of said permit, in fact, was due to expire in the first week of March 2023, and no news were available on how that would be extended or renewed.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Italian Council of Ministries<\/strong> approved a <strong>Law Decree<\/strong> on February 23rd, 2023, in which, with urgency, the previous dispositions in regard to the Ukrainian emergency are prorogated, in particular in relation to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>widespread reception through Municipalities, third sector and religious entities, voluntaries and entities already identified in the Legislative Decree 286\/1998;<\/li>\n<li>assistance to people entitled to the \u201cTemporary Protection\u201d who found an autonomous accommodation in Italy;<\/li>\n<li>social services offered by the Municipalities that have a significant number of beneficiaries of the \u201cTemporary Protection\u201d;<\/li>\n<li>extension to December 31st, 2023, of the validity of the residence permit for \u201cTemporary Protection\u201d, unless in case of ceasing of the applicability of the EU Directive on Temporary Protection mentioned above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the <strong>Emergency State<\/strong> has been prorogated, for this situation, to <strong>December 31st<\/strong>, <strong>2023<\/strong>, too.<\/p>\n<p>As of today\u2019s date, it is still unclear whether it will be an automatic extension or holders of a Temporary Protection residence permit will be required to undertake a specific renewal process and, in such a case, what would be the practical steps that they will need to take.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>LCA Corporate
